Biography
Coach Ben has been training BJJ on and off for six years. In 2021, after joining Bayshore BJJ, his interest in the sport skyrocketed, as did his understanding of the intricacies of the modern NOGI game. In addition to taking regular classes, Ben would spend as many as 4-5 hours a day at the academy in between classes studying instructionals and competition footage of the greatest modern competitors in the world. After months of him practically living here, Joe decided to ask if he just wanted a job (an offer Joe has regretted every day since, as Ben gets fired on a near-daily basis, sometimes twice a day). He is currently a four stripe blue belt under Professor Joe Dockery. He also has over ten years of experience working with children as a camp counselor and is CPR and First Aid certified.
During his break from Jiu-jitsu he graduated from Stockton University with a bachelor’s degree in communications with a concentration in public relations. One of his favorite things about coaching is watching people’s lives improve through Jiu-Jitsu (and teaching white belts leglocks).
