Four Athletes Bring Home Medals from Prestigious International Tournament
HAZLET, NJ – Bayshore Brazilian Jiu Jitsu continued its tradition of excellence at the 2025
IBJJF Pan American Championship, with four competitors earning medals at one of Brazilian Jiu
Jitsu’s most prestigious international events.
Leading the charge was Jason Fournier, who claimed gold and earned the title of 2025 IBJJF
Pan American Champion. Fournier’s dominant performance showcased the high-level training
and technical excellence that has become synonymous with Bayshore BJJ.
The team’s success continued with three bronze medal performances. Troman Treyes, Chris
Mell, and Juan Estrada each secured third-place finishes in their respective divisions,
demonstrating the depth of talent within the Bayshore BJJ competition team.
“To see our athletes compete at the highest level and bring home four medals from Pan Ams is
incredibly rewarding,” said Professor Joe Dockery, head instructor and founder of Bayshore
BJJ. “These results reflect the countless hours of dedication from our competitors and the
quality of training we provide. We’re proud to represent Hazlet and the Bayshore area on the
international stage.”
The IBJJF Pan American Championship attracts elite competitors from across the Americas and
around the world, making these achievements particularly significant. The tournament serves as
one of the major events on the international Brazilian Jiu Jitsu calendar.
Professor Dockery, a Renzo Gracie black belt and multiple-time champion himself, has built
Bayshore BJJ into one of Monmouth County’s premier martial arts academies since founding
the school in 2019. The academy has produced local, state, and world champions across
multiple age divisions, establishing itself as a destination for both competitive athletes and
recreational practitioners.
